No matter what, unless a couple is in a committed relationship and positive that they are disease-free, they shouldn't be having unprotected sex. By disease-free, I don't mean "I feel okay, so I can't have any disease"; I mean _tested_, free from HIV/AIDS and other STD's. If no protection is used, the chances of becoming pregnant the first time having sex are just as good as the millionth time having sex - maybe better, because it's much easier for a younger woman to become pregnant than, say, a 35-year-old. Family history is a good indicator of how fertile you are, but not garaunteed. If you are worried about protection, trying using 2 contraceptives...like condoms and timing it with your period. 2 weeks after your period is when you are most susceptible to getting pregnant.
